Self-Esteem Challenge

This post is the last of the month of April 2024 – the month of my birth to celebrate the BIG 5-0 and to officially kick off the year-long motto of #halfwaythere (because I am going to choose to make decisions for my health and well-being that will help me with the mentality of living to 100 YEARS OLD).

To end this amazing month, let’s do a CHALLENGE together. A Self-Esteem Challenge.  7 Days.  7 Activities for Self-Esteem (one per day).  Who is in?

Self-esteem is how you value and perceive yourself – based on your opinions about yourself.  A healthy self-esteem has been found to help maintain a positive outlook even when you don’t meet expectations.  It impacts your decision-making process, your relationships, your emotional health, and your overall well-being. 

Self-esteem comes from learning to accept who you are and is often influenced by childhood, rejection, social group stability, beliefs, etc.  When unchecked, low self-esteem may lead to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.  When negative influences and thoughts exist, they can adversely affect the way you feel about yourself and can affect the experiences you have in life. 

I think it would be great to spend the next 7 days together (via email) to hold each other accountable for daily “tasks” to help improve self-esteem. 

How would it work? 

Needed:  You, about 2-10 minutes of your next 7 days, and a journal notebook and writing utensil (optional but strongly suggested)

  1. Click on the “I’m in” pop on on the homepage of this website ( and enter your email by Thursday, April 25, 8pm.
  2. Starting Friday, April 26, a daily “Self-Esteem Challenge Daily Prompt” will be sent to your email.
  3. You do the daily prompt.  NOTE:  It would be nice to journal the replies and/or answers to the prompt each day.  Journaling has been proven to relieve stress, allow for better self-reflection, inspire creativity, and boost memory. (Feel free to share any thoughts, findings, and/or likes/dislikes via email and/or social media). 
  4. At the end of the 7 days we regroup, share any final thoughts, and …
  5. Viola.  Challenge accepted and done!
