Your Energy – Creating Your Beautiful Story

Oct 13, 2026

All the gunk you’ve dealt with, all the good you’ve celebrated, all the sadness you’ve shed tears over, all the hard you’ve survived – has made you who you are today. And that you is pretty darn incredible.

Your energy is exactly that – YOUR energy. Formed from all you have experienced.

Think about that for a moment. Every experience you’ve ever had, every person who has entered your life, every challenge that has tested your strength, every disappointment that has broken your heart, every victory that has made you proud, and every moment that has taken your breath away has contributed to the person you are today. You are not simply a collection of years, memories, or accomplishments. You are a living, breathing story of resilience, growth, love, loss, lessons, and possibilities.

And sometimes, we forget just how incredible that story really is.

We spend so much time wishing we were different. We wish we had handled a situation better, made a different decision, avoided a painful experience, or figured things out sooner. We look at other people and wonder why their lives seem easier, their confidence seems stronger, or their happiness seems more effortless. We compare our behind-the-scenes struggles to someone else’s highlight reel and convince ourselves that somehow, we should be further along than we are.

But what if we stopped looking at our experiences as things we need to overcome, hide, or regret and started recognizing how much they have shaped us?

What if we gave ourselves a little more credit for the journey?

You are not who you are in spite of everything you have been through. In many ways, you are who you are because of how you have grown through it.

The difficult seasons have taught you things that the easy seasons never could. Heartbreak may have taught you the importance of protecting your heart without closing it. Disappointment may have taught you to stop placing your happiness entirely in the hands of other people. Failure may have taught you that your worth is not determined by your ability to get everything right. And the moments when you thought you couldn’t possibly take another step may have revealed a strength you never knew you possessed.

Sometimes, the very experiences we would never choose become the experiences that change us the most. That doesn’t mean everything happens for a reason or that every painful experience needs to be celebrated. Some things are simply hard. Some losses leave permanent marks. Some chapters take much longer to heal from than we ever imagined. We don’t have to pretend the pain was good to acknowledge that we have grown beyond it.

There is a difference between being grateful for the lesson and being grateful for the hurt. We can honor what we have learned without wishing the pain upon ourselves or anyone else.

And perhaps that’s one of the most beautiful parts of being human – we can experience something that breaks our hearts and still learn to love again. We can be knocked down by life and still find the courage to stand up. We can carry scars from yesterday and still create something beautiful tomorrow.

That is resilience. That is growth. That is your energy.

Your energy tells a story.

Have you ever met someone whose presence made you feel instantly comfortable? Someone whose smile seemed genuine, whose laughter was contagious, or whose words made you feel seen and understood? Have you ever encountered someone who seemed to carry a quiet strength, a sense of peace, or a kindness that you could feel without them having to say very much?

Often, what we are experiencing is the impact of a person’s life showing up in the way they move through the world.

Our experiences influence how we listen, how we love, how we communicate, how we respond to challenges, and how we treat the people around us. They influence the boundaries we establish, the dreams we pursue, the things we value, and the moments we choose to cherish. They help shape the energy we bring into a room.

Some people carry the energy of someone who has fought hard to find peace. Others carry the warmth of someone who knows what it feels like to be alone and wants to make sure no one around them feels that way. Some carry the courage of someone who has had to begin again. Others carry a deep appreciation for the little things because life has taught them how quickly those little things can become the big things.

And some people are still figuring it all out – which is okay, too.

Your energy does not have to be perfect to be powerful. You do not have to walk into every room with a smile, have every answer, or be the strongest person in every situation. You are allowed to have difficult days. You are allowed to feel tired, uncertain, disappointed, or overwhelmed. Your worth does not disappear when your energy is low.

You are human and being human means that your energy will change as you move through different seasons of life.

The goal isn’t to be positive every second of every day. The goal is to become more aware of what you carry, what you allow into your life, and what you choose to give to the world around you. Because while your experiences have helped shape your energy, you still have a say in what you do with it. You get to decide what you carry forward.

There is something incredibly empowering about realizing that your past has influenced you without having to define you forever. Yes, your experiences have shaped you. Yes, certain people may have hurt you. Yes, you may have made choices you would make differently today. Yes, you may have spent years believing things about yourself that were never true.

But none of that means you have to carry those same beliefs, behaviors, or burdens into every new chapter.

You can learn to release the resentment that is weighing you down. You can forgive yourself for the things you didn’t know at the time. You can stop allowing an old disappointment to convince you that something wonderful isn’t possible. You can establish boundaries that protect your peace. You can choose to become more patient, more compassionate, more courageous, and more intentional with the way you live.

You can decide that the experiences that once made you feel small will no longer determine how big you allow yourself to dream.

This is where personal growth becomes so powerful. It’s not about becoming someone entirely different or pretending your past never happened. It’s about taking everything you have learned and using it to become a more intentional version of yourself.

Think about the person you were five or ten years ago. What did you believe then that you no longer believe today? What once felt impossible that you eventually found the courage to do? What relationships taught you about love, respect, and boundaries? What challenges revealed your strength? What moments helped you understand what truly matters?

You have been learning all along – even when you didn’t recognize it. Even when progress felt painfully slow. Even when you thought you were standing still. You were gathering wisdom, discovering your values, developing your strength, and learning more about the person you wanted to become.

Give yourself credit for that.

You have survived days you once wondered how you would get through. You have made decisions with the knowledge you had at the time. You have navigated uncertainty, experienced joy, felt grief, celebrated victories, and found ways to keep moving forward. You do not need to have everything figured out to appreciate how far you have come.

Through all of this, protect your energy, but don’t be afraid to share it. If your energy is formed by what you have experienced, it’s also worth paying attention to what experiences continue.

What conversations are you participating in? What thoughts are you repeating? What relationships are you nurturing? What environments are you allowing to influence you? Are you spending your time on things that align with the person you want to become, or are you giving away your peace trying to meet everyone else’s expectations?

We often talk about protecting our energy as though it means shutting people out, avoiding difficult conversations, or keeping ourselves separate from anything uncomfortable. But protecting your energy is not about building walls around your life. It’s about being intentional about what you allow to shape it.

It means recognizing that not every argument deserves your attention, not every opinion deserves your consideration, and not every person’s expectations deserve to become your responsibility.

It means understanding that you can be kind without saying yes to everything. You can love someone without accepting every behavior. You can care deeply about the world without carrying every problem as though it is yours alone to solve.

It also means making room for the things that replenish you – meaningful conversations, laughter with people who know the real you, time in nature, moments of stillness, acts of generosity, and the simple joy of being present.

Pay attention to the people and experiences that bring out the best in you. Seek relationships where you can be honest, imperfect, and fully yourself. Spend time doing things that remind you that life is more than a list of responsibilities and a race to the next accomplishment.

And just as importantly, pay attention to the energy you bring into other people’s lives.

Are people better off after spending time with you? Do your words encourage or discourage? Do you listen to understand, or simply wait for your turn to speak? Do you make people feel valued, or do you leave them questioning their worth?

You will not get it right every time. None of us will. But every interaction gives you another opportunity to choose who you want to be.

You have been shaped by the people who have influenced you. Now you have the opportunity to be a positive influence in someone else’s story.

What a beautiful responsibility that is.

And don’t apologize for the person you have become. Maybe you have become more cautious because you’ve been hurt. Maybe you have become more outspoken because you spent years being afraid to use your voice. Maybe you have become more independent because life taught you that you are capable of handling more than you imagined. Maybe you have become softer, more compassionate, or more protective of your time because you finally understand what matters most.

Growth changes us.

Sometimes, the people who knew us in an earlier chapter struggle to understand the person we are becoming. They may be comfortable with the version of us who never said no, never challenged anything, or always put everyone else’s needs first. They may not understand why we have different priorities or why certain things no longer hold the same importance.

But you are allowed to grow beyond the version of yourself that made everyone else comfortable. You are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to develop new dreams. You are allowed to choose a different direction. You are allowed to become someone who values peace more than approval, authenticity more than appearances, and meaningful experiences more than the need to impress others.

You don’t owe the world a permanent version of yourself. You owe yourself the opportunity to keep learning, growing, and becoming. You don’t have to turn every struggle into a success story to prove that you are strong. You do not have to demonstrate how much you have overcome to deserve respect.

Sometimes strength is simply getting through the day. Sometimes growth looks like asking for help. Sometimes healing means resting instead of pushing harder. Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is admit that something hurt you and give yourself permission to heal.

And remember, your story is not finished. The person you are today is the result of everything you have experienced so far, but the person you become tomorrow is still being shaped by the choices you make today.

You can choose gratitude even after disappointment. You can choose courage even when fear is present. You can choose kindness without expecting anything in return. You can choose to be curious instead of judgmental, hopeful instead of cynical, and intentional instead of simply going through the motions.

You can learn something new. You can repair a relationship. You can start a new chapter. You can pursue a dream you once thought was out of reach. You can decide that the next season of your life will be guided by different priorities and a deeper understanding of what makes you happy.

You cannot control every circumstance that comes your way. You cannot erase your past or guarantee that life will always be easy. But you can continue to shape your responses, your habits, your mindset, and the way you show up for yourself and others.

Every day offers another opportunity to add something to your story.

Maybe it’s more patience. Maybe it’s a little more laughter. Maybe it’s the courage to have a difficult conversation or the wisdom to walk away from one that no longer serves you. Maybe it’s simply choosing to notice the good that is already around you. These choices may seem small, but over time, they become part of who you are.

Your energy is something you nurture, something you develop, and something you can intentionally direct toward the life you want to create. Take care of it. Feed it with experiences that help you grow. Surround yourself with people who encourage you to be authentic. Give yourself room to make mistakes. Celebrate your progress, even when it’s imperfect. And remember that you can honor where you have been without allowing it to dictate where you are going.

Take a moment to think about everything it took for you to become the person reading these words today. Think about the days you laughed until your stomach hurt. The moments when someone showed up for you exactly when you needed them. The accomplishments that made you proud. The opportunities you embraced and the risks you took before you felt completely ready.

Think about the difficult conversations, the unexpected endings, the disappointments, and the tears no one else saw. Think about the moments you had to dig deep, find your courage, and keep moving forward without knowing exactly how everything would turn out.

All of it is part of your story.

Not every chapter was beautiful. Not every decision was right. Not every person stayed. Not every dream came true.

But you are here.

You are still learning. Still growing. Still discovering what matters to you. Still capable of experiencing joy, creating meaningful connections, and making a difference in the lives of others.

And that is something worth celebrating.

You don’t have to compare your energy to anyone else’s. You don’t have to measure your journey against someone else’s timeline. You don’t have to become louder, more successful, more polished, or more impressive to prove that your life has value.

Your energy is yours. Your story is yours. Your growth is yours.

There is only one person in the world who has lived every moment you have lived, felt every emotion you have felt, and walked every step of your particular journey. That person is you.

Embrace the lessons. Celebrate the victories. Give yourself grace for the mistakes. Allow yourself to grieve what you have lost. Be proud of the strength you have discovered. And never forget that the person you are today deserves appreciation, not just the person you hope to become someday.

Your energy carries your experiences, your lessons, your resilience, your values, and your capacity to love.

Wear it with pride.

Protect it with intention.

Share it with kindness.

And keep creating it with every choice you make.

Your energy is about being authentically, unapologetically, and intentionally YOU. And that you is pretty darn incredible.
